Leading Through Change
Helle Thorning-Schmidt knows what it means to lead through change, because she’s done it. She became the first woman to hold the post as Leader of the Danish Social Democrats and in 2011 became Prime Minister of Denmark.
She says, “no matter where you are as a leader in times of change, you have to be courageous, get out of your comfort zone, embrace dilemmas and forgive yourself when you make mistakes. And you have to take a stand. But most of all you have to stay curious and cool.”
Helle is known to be a courageous woman with a strong charisma and a forceful personality; maybe because her father told her that:” Girls can do anything – also become the prime minister”, and during hard times, she reminded herself that what doesn´t kill you, makes you stronger.

The winners in the global economy will be the organizations that lead in discovering and exploiting new opportunities created by changes in their external environments.
This presentation highlights the key strategic implications for navigating this new world of “smart globalization”, and explains the value of going global early versus standing on the sidelines in this all-star game.

He served 18 years as Chairman and CEO of PUMA and under his leadership PUMA went from near-bankruptcy to become one of the top 3 brands in the sporting goods industry, growing sales to $4 billion and share price by 4000%. Zeitz believes in contributing to a new paradigm of corporate social, environmental, and financial sustainability. While at PUMA, he conceived and pioneered the ground-breaking Environmental Profit and Loss account (E P&L) that puts a monetary value on environmental impacts across a business’ supply chain, inspiring a new internationally-recognized environmentally and socially conscious business model.
In 2014, Zeitz co-founded The B Team with Sir Richard Branson, an initiative which includes 24 of the world’s top business leaders such as Professor Mohammed Yunus, President Mary Robinson, Mo Ibrahim, Paul Polman, and Arianna Huffington, promoting socially and environmentally conscious business practices across the globe.
He took over the post of CEO and Chairman of the Board at Harley Davidson in 2020. With a life-long passion for Africa, Zeitz conserves 50,000 acres of wildlife habitat in Kenya and in 2012 launched Segera Retreat, an entirely sustainable, luxury eco-safari retreat, named as the only 5-star safari lodge in Kenya by the Kenya Tourism Regulatory Authority. As a published author, Zeitz co-wrote The Manager and The Monk with Anselm Grün, which has been translated into 15 languages, and The Breakthrough Challenge: 10 Ways to Connect Today’s Profits with Tomorrow’s Bottom Line with John Elkington.
Zeitz is a Board Member of Harley Davidson, Cranemere, the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), and until recently he served as Board Member and Chair of the Sustainability Committee for Wilderness Safaris and Kering, the international luxury goods group for whom he developed its global sustainability strategy.
During his professional career, Zeitz has received numerous awards, including ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’, 3-times ‘Strategist of the Year’ by the Financial Times, ‘Trendsetter of the Year’ and ‘Best of European Business Award’. CEO of Trend Hunter & New York Times Bestselling Author of Create the Future
Since the release of his award-winning first book Exploiting Chaos, Jeremy Gutsche has become a world-class expert on innovating through times of uncertainty. Our first impulse during a crisis may be to retreat, says Gutsche, but several of the world’s most iconic companies were actually founded during periods of recession. His latest book, Create the Future, features a foreword by Malcolm Gladwell, and won a 2021 Axiom Business Book Award in the category of business disruption and reinvention. In it, Gutsche teaches readers how to think disruptively and implement real change when we need it most. As exciting as it is actionable, the handbook features strategies that Gutsche has personally used in projects with the world’s most powerful brands, who have each relied on him to lead them through rapid change. As companies and leaders scramble to pivot their business in the wake of the pandemic, there is no timelier or more urgent read—nor a more trusted, sought-after guide: Gutsche’s talks regularly go viral, and his landmark innovation keynote has surpassed 10 million views—making it the most-watched in history.
In his previous book, the New York Times bestseller Better and Faster, Gutsche reveals six patterns of opportunity that help smart people and teams lead through change, destroy complacency, and realize their potential. The book reached #1 on Amazon and was chosen as a CEO Read “Select” book for CEOs, entrepreneurs, and managers. Gutsche even used insights from the book to lead a workshop for NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, helping them integrate AI, become “lean, agile, responsive, and adaptive to change”—and, one day, get human beings to Mars.
When he’s not touring the globe as a futurist and sought-after innovation speaker, Jeremy is the CEO of Trend Hunter—the world’s #1 largest trend-spotting platform driven by artificial intelligence. Imagine the insight from a focus group made up of 100 million people—that’s Trend Hunter. With Gutsche at the helm, the company has grown into a powerful innovation engine and global showcase for what’s next—attracting three billion views in the process. The site’s been featured or cited in over 40,000 articles, and Gutsche is routinely sourced by the media, where his broad appeal ranges from The Economist and CNN to WIRED and The New York Times. He has been described as “a new breed of trend spotter” by The Guardian, an “Oracle” by the Globe and Mail, an “intellectual can of Red Bull” by Association Week, and “the rockstar of keynote speakers” by Meetings Professional International.
